Canon MAXIFY MB5470 waste ink pad counter reset
If your Canon MAXIFY MB5470 has stopped printing with support code 5B00, you can use the program to reset the waste ink counter and clear this error. Download the program for free, then use a reset key to complete the reset.

Canon MAXIFY MB5470 ink absorber error 5B00
Canon may display the following message when the printer stops:
Support Code: 5B00. A printer error has occurred. See the manual and contact the service center.
This model family may also show support code 5B01. Codes 1700 and 1701 indicate that the ink absorber is almost full; they are warnings rather than the stop error described above.
The printer uses a software counter for waste ink collected during cleaning and printing. When this counter reaches its limit, printing may stop. Resetting the counter with the program can clear the related error and let your printer print again.
Ready to reset your printer?
The program is free to download. A reset key is needed to complete the operation.
How to reset the counter
Download the program
Install and open the program on your computer.
Connect the printer
Connect your Canon MAXIFY MB5470 and follow the instructions for entering service mode.
Enter the key and reset
Use your reset key in the program to clear the waste ink counter error.
The reset changes the software counter; it does not remove ink from the physical absorber. Check the absorber visually and replace it if saturated.
