Canon PIXMA MX475 ink absorber support codes

The displayed support code depends on which ink absorber has reached its limit. Canon lists these stop codes for this model family:

Support codes: 5B02, 5B03, 5B04, 5B05, 5B12, 5B13, 5B14 or 5B15.

Codes 1702–1705 and 1712–1715 warn that an absorber is almost full; printing may still continue at this stage.

The printer uses a software counter for waste ink collected during cleaning and printing. When this counter reaches its limit, printing may stop. Resetting the counter with the program can clear the related error and let your printer print again.

Ready to reset your printer?

The program is free to download. A reset key is needed to complete the operation.

How to reset the counter

Download the program

Install and open the program on your computer.

Connect the printer

Connect your Canon PIXMA MX475 and follow the instructions for entering service mode.

Enter the key and reset

Use your reset key in the program to clear the waste ink counter error.

The reset changes the software counter; it does not remove ink from the physical absorber. Check the absorber visually and replace it if saturated.
